Opera On Campus

If your students are too old for Children's Opera Theatre, but you'd like to have opera at your school, consider bringing our artists to you. Performances and residencies by the FWOpera Studio artists can be arranged for your arts students or entire student bodies. Typical performances include songs and ensembles from well-known operas, pieces from our current season, as well as musical theater numbers. These performances can be tailored to your school's needs and wants and can range from 30 minutes to 1 1/2 hours in length. Options are also available for our young artists to speak to emerging middle and high school artists and arts classes. For more information, contact Clyde at clyde@fwopera.org

Student Night at the Opera

A group of high school students at Student Night at the Opera.

For students and teachers from middle schools and high schools, Student Night should be arranged through a teacher or youth group leader. Student Night occurs at Bass Hall and is an inside look at our Final Dress Rehearsal. Students can see technical adjustments, a director in action, as well as an orchestra fine tuning the music. Student Night is an excellent way to introduce students to the world of opera at a rate that is cheaper than a movie!

Passes must be purchased in blocks of five. You must have a minimum ratio of one (1) chaperone to every four (4) students, but no greater. Want to get your students excited about opera? Clyde Berry will come to your classes to talk to your students about the shows, contests, and the world of opera.
