Children's Opera Theatre truck burglarized.
Tuesday, September 21, 2010 By Martha Martinez-Sotelo

Someone broke into our Children's Opera Theatre truck last night - doing a lot of damage just to grab a stock stereo.  It is quite unfortunate, especially since it is a brand new truck.   We have insurance and our deductible is $500. Donations to help us cover it would be appreciated. If anyone is interested in helping, you can do so here

But to make us feel better we posed the question to our Facebook fans, Any ideas for an appropriate operatic punishment? The responses have been great! See them below. And feel free to post your suggestions in the comments.

    • Sue Fenoglio Allred I can think of several ways of punishment.....just not sure how 'operatic' they are.

    • Cynthia Beard How about something along the line of the ending of Salieri's Les Danaïdes? (Horror movies have nothing on opera when it comes to gore...)

    • Michael Hayes I'll volunteer. I'm rehearsing Bacchus at the moment - lock me in the back of the truck with the thief and I'll sing through the role for him/her. I believe his/her ears will probably stop bleeding by time he/she gets to jail.
