Health & Wellness Protocols
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: A NEGATIVE COVID-19 TEST WITHIN 72 HOURS (3 DAYS) OR VOLUNTARY PROOF OF COVID-19 VACCINATION IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND FORT WORTH OPERA INDOOR EVENTS.
The safety of our audience members, artists, and staff is always our top priority. Out of an abundance of caution, we have implemented new health and wellness protocols to allow the community to continue to enjoy our live performances throughout our historic 75th anniversary season.
Effective immediately, Fort Worth Opera will be requiring the following to attend all INDOOR events at the Rose Marine Theatre, Firestone & Robertson Co. Whiskey Ranch, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and I.M. Terrell Academy of STEM & VPA.
Documents Needed to Attend FWO Performances*
A printed or clear digital copy of a negative COVID-19 test result obtained within 72 hours (3 days) of the event for all patrons aged 12 and older. Printed or digital negative test results must be dated with your full name matching your photo ID.
As an alternative to a negative test, a patron can voluntarily provide printed or clear digital proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, with final vaccine dated at least 14 days prior to the event. Printed or digital proof of vaccination must be dated with your full name matching your photo ID.
*Fort Worth Opera is in discussions with Performing Arts Fort Worth about implementing these protocols for La Traviata at Bass Performance Hall and updates will be provided at a later date.
Masks must be worn at all times indoors and outdoors, except while actively eating or drinking. There will be no food or beverage allowed inside the audience areas of any of our 21/22 performance venues.
These protocols were designed in accordance with national public health recommendation. Fort Worth Opera is committed to providing the safest experience possible this season for our audiences. We will continue to monitor health environment changes closely and notify ticket holders of any updates to this policy should they arise, including in pre-show email reminders, and here on our website.
What forms of negative COVID-19 test or vaccination proof are accepted?
Printed copies of a negative COVID-19 test, vaccine card, or vaccine record will be accepted. Printed copies must be dated and match the name on your ID. Digital copies or photos will be accepted. Paper copies will be immediately returned.
Do kids under 12 need to provide a negative COVID-19 test result?
If you plan to attend a performance with a child under the age of 12, Fort Worth Opera requires a COVID-19 test and we encourage you to call the Box Office at 512-472-5992 if you have specific questions. Children ages 12 and under are not allowed at the Entre Amigos afterparty.
Does this policy apply to the April 22 & 24, 2022 performances of La Traviata at Bass Hall?
Fort Worth Opera is in discussions with Performing Arts Fort Worth about implementing these protocols for La Traviata at Bass Performance Hall and updates will be provided at a later date.
What if a child or someone in my group cannot/will not wear a mask?
Our mask policy is in place for each person who attends a Fort Worth Opera event and we cannot make exceptions. If you or any member of your group are unable to wear a mask, we invite you to call or email our box office and let us hold your tickets for a performance in the future when these requirements are no longer in place.
Will temperatures and health screenings be taken at the door?
No. FWO has suspended temperature checks and health screenings.
Can I send my test results to FWO in advance?
No. As an effort to maintain privacy and personal data integrity, FWO will not accept digital transmission of vaccination records or COVID test results. All documentation will be assessed at the door of the venue and immediately returned to the owner.
May I use a vaccination verification app to share my documentation?
No. At this time, FWO will only accept original printed documentation of a negative COVID test, an original vaccination card or record, or clear digital representations of those documents.
Will indoor seating be socially distanced?
Indoor events have returned to full capacity at all venues.
Will concessions still be offered at any of the venues throughout FWO’s 21/22 Season?
Concessions will not be offered, and outside food and beverages will not be permitted inside the venues.
What other safety precautions are in place for indoor events?
Seats, bathrooms, and other high-touch surfaces will be thoroughly sanitized before each show. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout our 21/22 venues for your use. Staff at all venues are required to wear masks at all times and frequently wash and sanitize their hands. Fort Worth Opera will have extra masks on-hand should a patron leave theirs at home.
Will events held in the Green & Richardson Rooms at Bass Performance Hall still be offered?
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Green & Richardson Rooms at Bass Performance Hall, are currently unavailable until further notice. Performing Arts Fort Worth will continue to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and industry safety guidelines for reopening performing arts centers and will announce a timeline at a later date.
