Sheran Goodspeed Keyton

Director of COT Production & Civic Impact

A valued member of the Fort Worth Opera staff since 2006. From part-time seasonal box office associate to Director of Children's Opera Theatre (Education) and Civic Impact (Outreach) her time at Fort Worth Opera has been extremely impactful. As a box office employee Sheran offered in-person, virtual, and phone customer service that constantly received praise from the Fort Worth Opera patrons and community at large. She managed the box office and customer service staff as well as the front-of-house operations for Fort Worth Opera events at larger venues such as Bass Hall, Music Hall at Fair Park, Meyerson Symphony Center, I.M. Terrell High School, Arlington Music Hall, and Mansfield Center for the Performing Arts. Since taking over the education and outreach department in 2017, she has been responsible for increasing the number of students served both in school and at community events. She has created ground-breaking programming which truly serves the needs of the community: Relaxed Performances (Mini-operas produced for students with autism and other sensory differences and their families), Music, Memory, and More (Interactive music/memory programming for seniors living with various stages of Alzheimer's and dementia), Opera FUNatics! (summer intensive for students interested in experiencing opera from backstage to on stage which became an eight-month curriculum used by local school districts), Arts-in-Place (a virtual offering created at the onset of the global pandemic which included videos and extensive study guides for homeschoolers and provided support for teachers unfamiliar with creating virtual curriculum for their students), and more. Sheran Goodspeed Keyton brings 30+ years of arts education, dedicated work in the community, and solid relationships to arts and community leaders to her various roles at Fort Worth Opera and the company is thrilled to have her as part of the senior staff.
