AMAHL & AMAHL COVER
Fort Worth Opera is accepting video submissions for their 2026 production of Amahl and the Night Visitors. Seeking to fill the roles of Amahl and Amahl cover. Local performers only. These are youth roles requiring treble/unchanged voices. Seeking male actors approximately 11-13 years old, young appearance preferred. No experience necessary, however the ideal candidate will have:

the ability to sing complex music accurately and in the appropriate style

the stage presence to portray a leading role

the maturity to handle themselves independently in a professional setting.
Performances : 4 performances, Saturday and Sunday, December 12 & 13, 2026; two matinee performances (11am and 4pm) each day at Stage West Theatre in Fort Worth.
Rehearsals: Weeknights, November 30-December 10, 6-9pm; December 11 at 4-7 pm, in Fort Worth. Individual music coachings will also be scheduled prior to the rehearsal period.

SHEPHERDS CHORUS
Fort Worth Opera is accepting video audition submissions for their 2026 production of Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors. Seeking to fill positions in the Shepherd Chorus. All voice parts available. All positions are paid. Local performers only.
Performances: 4 performances, Saturday and Sunday, December 12 and 13, 2026; two matinee performances (11am and 4pm) each day at Stage West Theatre in Fort Worth.
Rehearsals: Weeknights, November 30-December 10, 6-9pm; December 11 at 4-7pm, in Fort Worth. Shepherd Chorus will not be called to every rehearsal.
Video should include one operatic aria or other similar piece in the style of the show.
Material from the show is acceptable. Submit resume, headshot, any scheduling conflicts, and link to your video to education@fwopera.org by July 24, 2026. All candidates will be notified of casting decisions by August 7.
About the show: A holiday family favorite, this one-hour American opera tells the heartwarming tale of a poor young boy who encounters the three wise men on their way to visit the Christ-child.
