Year Two Goal: $250,000

What is Match the Momentum?

Launched during Fort Worth Opera's 80th Anniversary Season, Match the Momentum is a four-year, $1 million campaign to expand the company's artistic and community impact—and secure a vibrant future for opera in Fort Worth.

Year One surpassed its goal, unlocking a dollar-for-dollar match to achieve more than $250,000 in campaign impact. Now we’re building on that success with a growing community of Momentum Makers, investing in the next generation of artists and audiences.

Angela Turner Wilson, General & Artistic Director

"When a student discovers their voice, when a family experiences opera together for the first time, or when a young artist realizes a dream, we are reminded why this work matters. Thank you for helping us share the joy of opera with our entire community."

OPERA FOR EVERYONE

Opera educates, inspires, and connects—uniting audiences through music and storytelling. With Match the Momentum, you're opening the door for more students and families to experience it firsthand.

Your generosity supports:

  • Project: Opera — our immersive, TEKS-aligned high school residency where students work alongside professional artists and Fort Worth Opera staff to bring a fully staged opera to life.

  • Touring Family Operas — bringing charming productions like The Ugly Duckling and Frida Kahlo and the Bravest Girl in the World directly into local schools, libraries, and community venues.

  • The Family Series — making live opera more affordable, welcoming, and accessible for audiences of every age.

  • The Hattie Mae Lesley Resident Artist Program — launching the careers of exceptional emerging opera singers while bringing world-class opera to schools and communities across North Texas.
