Of Mice and Men

Carlisle Floyd

2008

Taking a line by Robert Burns as his title, American John Steinbeck (1902-1968) crafted a literary gem that few can read without weeping. Set in Depression-era California, in an area much like the Salinas Valley where Steinbeck grew up, Of Mice and Men chronicles the dilemma of George, a rugged ranch hand who finds himself the sole caretaker of Lennie Small.
