FWO Resident Artist Updates: Mariam Mouawad

My name is Mariam Mouawad and I was a Hattie Mae Lesley

Resident Artist at Fort Worth Opera for the 2024-25 season. I had the pleasure of participating in outreach and mainstage with the opera. I am currently a resident artist for the summer at Opera North in New Hampshire where I am singing two leading roles, the first being The Fox in Rachel Portman’s The Little Prince and Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro. Prior to arriving in New Hampshire, I was a winner in the Musical Merit Foundation of San Diego competition in May. After my time here in New Hampshire, my next engagement is with Minnesota Opera where I will be workshopping a new

work with the company. Then, I am covering the title role in L’enfant et les sortilèges at San Diego Symphony in September.

I am aiming to participate in European auditions and competitions in the fall as well. After that I will be performing at The Lensic Performing Arts Center in Santa Fe, NM for their NYE concert with orchestra. Finally, I will be singing the role of Mercedes in San Diego Opera’s Carmen in March. My season is filled with wonderful opportunities and I cannot be more grateful! I was fortunate to be part of the resident artist program at Fort Worth where I got to hone my craft and serve the community!
