We are excited to welcome back Ryan Lathan, who previously served as our Director of Marketing and Communications and is now joining Fort Worth Opera as our new Associate Director of Development.
Ryan returns to us from the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where he served as Director of Communications. For three years, he played a key role in amplifying the voices and exceptional artistry of students and alumni while highlighting the school’s distinctive learn-by-doing philosophy, bold programming, and commitment to entrepreneurial leadership in the arts. His tenure culminated in the school’s historic centennial season, featuring over 150 performances celebrating a century of musical excellence and innovation.
After a decade in marketing and communications, Ryan is shifting his focus to arts philanthropy. He shared, "I’m honored to join General Director Angela Turner Wilson and the team as FWO celebrates its milestone 80th season. I look forward to leading development efforts, strengthening community ties, and advancing the art form I love dearly."
Ryan’s return comes at an inspiring time for Fort Worth Opera. Reflecting on the company’s recent critically acclaimed production of Rossini’s La Cenerentola at Bass Performance Hall, Ryan said, "If the glowing reviews of the company’s recent production of Rossini’s 'La Cenerentola' at Bass Performance Hall are any indication, Fort Worth Opera is entering an exciting new chapter—and I’m proud to be part of it."
In his new role, Ryan will focus on deepening relationships with our community, board members, and donors to support the continued growth and success of Fort Worth Opera. His passion and expertise will be invaluable as we build on our rich legacy of bold storytelling and world-class artistry.
Please join us in welcoming Ryan back to Fort Worth Opera—we’re thrilled to have him on board for this exciting season ahead!
